Teachers and home schooling parents can find bargains at the Friends’ Book Depot to benefit their students and local libraries at the same time.
From July 22-Sept. 2, the Book Depot will have a half-price sale on reference books, textbooks, instructional guides, children’s books, classics and other books for classroom or home school use.
The Book Depot is open 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. It is located in building H-15 in the B&A Flea Market, Stuart.
Bargain prices can be found across all topics and genres. The Book Depot has more than 30,000 gently used hardcovers, paperbacks, CDs and DVDs in its bright and well-organized space.
For an idea of the Book Depot’s pricing: Most hardbacks are $3, and children's books are as low as 50 cents. Another current sale has cookbooks at half price and biographies for $1.
The store is operated by volunteers with the Friends of the Martin County Library System. Purchases support programs, materials and equipment at all six public libraries in Martin County.
